Meet Mary Ellen

Mary Ellen Cash and her husband Randy live in Golden Gate Estates, where they have been very active and involved in their community.

Their family is very important to them and they enjoy spending time with their daughter and three grandchildren. Because her grandchildren are such an important part of her life, Mary Ellen is concerned that they have a quality educational experience. As a 23-year educator, she knows what it takes to ensure quality education.

Experienced

As a 23-year educator (the last 15 in Collier County), Mary Ellen is uniquely qualified to serve as a School Board Member. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland in Business and her Master’s of Arts degree in Counseling from the University of Central Florida. Her teaching experience is very diverse, having taught in Department of Defense Schools in Europe, Muscogee County Public Schools in Columbus, GA, and inner city schools of Orleans Parish in Louisiana.

She is known for her commitment to the students and parents of our community. Her advocacy and support has helped countless students and their families in their quest to meet graduation requirements and go on to higher education.

During her career in education, Mary Ellen has served as a classroom teacher, counselor, and dean.  She is presently serving as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TSA) for the Federal & State Grants Department, (Instructional Specialist) with Collier County Public Schools.

Mary Ellen’s professional certifications are in English as a Second Language, Spanish and Counseling. She is fluent in Spanish and speaks French.
